Do the silly thing
I looked around and didn’t see any people or cars, so maybe I could be silly?

I had heard that cows enjoy music, and I’ve ALWAYS wanted to see if playing something for them would make them happy enough to come see me.
I stood on the side of the road, ready to hit play on my music … only to realize I didn’t have service to stream my songs. 😭
Bummed, I started walking back to my friend’s home until a thought surfaced:
🎵 What if you sing? 🎵
I looked around and didn’t see any people or cars, so maybe I could be silly and sing a song for them?
I started quietly, embarrassed, and a little afraid that someone might hear my voice crack or judge me. 🫣
But then I wondered … maybe the cows don’t care if I have a “good enough” voice?Maybe they just appreciate someone noticing them.
I began singing a little more loudly, with more confidence, and watched as a black cow started sauntering over, curious.
Then more followed, cautiously. Little calves walked up to the front to get a better view of the strange woman belting out bangers like “You Are My Sunshine.”
A few songs turned into a whole co(w)ncert!!
As I walked back home, I kept thinking about all the beautiful little things we stop ourselves from experiencing because of self-judgment.
- Do the silly thing because you feel called to.
- Sing a little louder because it feels edgy.
- Take up space for the fun of it.
Life is richer through connection, not perfection.
Life opens up when you follow your curiosity, so find the courage to moooove out of your own way. 🐮💛
